The NZ International Science Festival was part of a recycling project study carried out by the Dunedin City Council. There were recycling stations in the ODT Science Festival HQ from July 5-13 and during the Uni Expo on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 July at the St David Lecture Theatre Complex.
The project was successful with very low contamination in the clearly labelled recycling bins used to collect recyclable, food and small amounts of non-recyclable waste. Overall, the project received very positive feedback from event organisers as well as members of the public.
