The lily looks like renga renga but check to make sure. The voilet might be an African violet perhaps?
First you need to think about what is most imortant to you in your quadrant. What do you want most to keep? How could you make it healthier/bigger/more prolific? Then you can start thinking about just one change to make to enhance it. Some enhacement ideas can be found here.

Is the idea the children really come up with an idea or would it be good to get some gardener advice at this point or send their ideas off and let your experts give feedback?
A:
I would do both. Have the kids get gardener advice but then the kids decide what they want for their area in light of what they investigated and in light of the gardener advice.
