Christine was born and raised in Northern California, where she received a BSc in Biology and Mathematics. After obtaining her PhD in Developmental Neuroscience at the University of Washington, Christine moved to Dunedin in 2002 where she initially worked in the biotech industry as an expert in genome informatics, followed by a position as Research Fellow in the Centre for Neuroendocrinology at the University of Otago.
