The hunt is on for the best southern cheese roll!
What makes the perfect cheese roll? Do you think you have it?
The winning cheese roll will be analysed by the University of Otago's Food Science Team, who will provide an insight into what makes the ultimate taste sensation!
Cheese rolls are a fantastic fundraiser and, in conjunction with MOJO Cafe, the winning cheese rolls will be sold during the week of the NZ International Science Festival 2010. You, the winner, get to choose what fundraising group or charity the profits will go to!
Competition closes Friday June 25 at 5pm
How to Enter
- It's simple, Make the 6 best cheese rolls
- Freeze them (or bring them in straight away).
- Drop them off to the Festival Office at 138 Lower Stuart St (Wooden doors next to the Perc).
- Make sure you have your name, contact number and email securely attached.
- Have them there by the 25th June
Entry Process: Supply 6 FROZEN rolls wrapped in plastic and securely attach your name, phone number, and e-mail address. Deliver to the Festival Office, 138 Stuart St, prior to the deadline. For Judging, rolls will be placed under a grill and topped with butter. The winner will be announced at 12.30pm on Tuesday July 6 at Wall Street Mall.
An expert panel of judges, including food and wine writer Charmian Smith from the Otago Daily Times, Tony Heptinstall (Hospitality Programme Manager at Otago Polytechnic), Damian Newell of More FM and Jason Moore from MOJO Cafe has been appointed.
Conditions of Entry
1) The winner will be announced at the Wall Street Mall on Tuesday July 6, 12:30pm.
2) Recipe must be made available for publishing in websites and media, and to MOJO cafe for production purposes from 6 – 11 July.
3) For the winning entry, individuals will be acknowledged as opposed to businesses
4) All entries become the property of the NZ International Science Festival, and entry is not available to their employees, or those of competition sponsors.
5) The winner agrees to partake in the publicity for 2010 NZISF.
6) The judge’s decision is final.
