Sunday 11 Jul 2010
You can stay warm and fire up your senses with local and regional food
delicacies, wine tasting, entertainment and loads of activities for the kids.
Children can play on the giant inflatable castles, horizontal bungy and learn
about native frogs with Freddo and much more. Adults can check out the food
stands, where taste buds collide with delicious food and wine.
Enjoy immersing yourself in a food playground with cooking displays using local produce, talks and displays. A Cadbury chocolate demonstration by renowned local chef Michael Coughlin is not to be missed. Also as part of the Fiesta activities the Cadbury dessert competition finalists will be judged live during the day by Pier 24 chef Greg Piner. Added to this will be the first ever “Science Idol” winners – have you a rapper in your family?
Scheduled informative talks will be held throughout the day with Dr Katherine Black from the University of Otago discussing whether sports drinks are the right option for you and an interesting discussion around knowing fish is good for us, but how can we ensure there is enough for future generations? Sit down and join Forest & Bird’s Kirstie Knowles to find out.
