Learn how gravity and energy principles are applied. Gravity will always cause an object to fall and this can be looked at in terms of energy gained and lost.
Design and build your own safety harness to allow an egg to be dropped from a height onto the ground without breaking. Different harness designs will change the speed at which the egg falls and likewise the energy absorbed by the harness will affect whether or not the egg breaks when it hits the ground.
The same principles apply in a car crash with crumple zones absorbing energy and helping to protect the passengers.
