C.S.I BEER – Investigating the science of beer (R18)

Wednesday 07 Jul 2010 to Thursday 08 Jul 2010

C.S.I BEER.jpgJoin southern brewers Richard Emerson and Steve Nally, Prof. Phil Bremer and Otago Polytechnic’s Tony Heptinstall as they present an evening of beer, science and food.

Begin with a taste of our version of the style of beer brewed 3,000 years ago. 12 styles of beer will then be introduced with a discussion on how factors such as water chemistry, hop strain, malting style, yeast selection and brewery practices have over time resulted in the production of an enormously diverse range of distinctive beer styles and flavours.

Each beer will be served to the audience accompanied by a complementing amuse-bouche (a bite-sized hors d’oeuvre) selected and introduced by Tony.

Location: TECHnique Restaurant, Harbour Terrace, Dunedin
