Sharklab '14: Why Sharks MatterSharklab '14

Our competition leading up to the 2014 Science Festival is all about the fascinating ocean creatures. We are looking for the next generation of science story tellers: the challenge is to show people why it is important to learn about sharks, and to tell that story in an exciting and creative way.

What was Science Idol all about?

In 2012, we were looking for the best science rapper from around the country, and we brought the winner James Mustapic to Dunedin to get his science rap professionally recorded at the University of Otago’s music studio.

To kick the competition off, our very own science rapper, Tom McFadden toured the country, taking his rap to schools.
